The picturesque Carpathian Mountains, covered with dense forests, rapid rivers and beautiful mountain valley has long been glorified by the people. The originality of the land, the beauty of landscapes, rich flora and fauna prompted the public to express the need to preserve all of these resources.
Therefore, the order of the Council of Ministers of Ukraine dated 3 June 1980 in order to preserve the typical Chornogory Gorgan and natural systems that have ecological, historical and aesthetic value, for research in the field of environment, creating conditions for rest and recovery, promoting Knowledge of environmental and ecological education and was created by the Carpathian National Nature Park. As a scientific, nature conservation and recreational establishments park meets international criteria adopted by IUCN in 1969.
Park covers an extremely valuable landscape and ecological, botanical and zoogeographic and environmental points of view the highest mountain ecosystems in the eastern sector of the Ukrainian Carpathians. The park is 50 495 ha. Covering an area of absolute heights within 500-2061 m north ridge to the Montenegrin g.Yaremcha along the Prut River and western tributaries of the Black Cheremosha. The length of the park from northwest to southeast is 55 km, and from southwest to northeast 20 km.
According to the tasks assigned to this category of protected object of the Law of Ukraine "On Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine park is divided into zones: reserved (11401.4 ha), managed recreation (25964.2 ha), stationary recreation (96, 2 ha) and economic (13033.2 ha).
KNPP territory is divided into three geomorphological regions: spine Chornohora Vorokhta nyzkohir'ya and Gorgan. Montenegro - the highest ridge of the Ukrainian Carpathians with the highest peak - Goverla (2061 m).
Main river park is Prut River and Black Cheremosh. Crossing the solid rock, Rod creates original waterfalls, among them - Hook (b. Zhenets), Maiden's Tears (b. Zhonka) and sample (Prut).
Quaternary glaciation, also left their mark here, creating mountain lakes - Nesamovyte (1750 m asl) and Maricheika (1510 m asl).
Carpathians feature floral wealth. It grows 1105 species of higher vascular plants, representing 54,9% of flora of the Ukrainian Carpathians. In the park are tall beech-fir zone forests, spruce forests, subalpine and alpine.
Among the spruce dominated, forest - 79%, fir - beech and 4% - 10% of plantations, the rest is pine, cedar, alder and others. The greatest value is a virgin. Relict stands of pine and cedar is unique objects. Subalpine vegetation is represented by pine, alder, Siberian juniper, rhododendron: east.
And how much land Gutsulschiny? There are also archaeological sites, monuments of wooden craft, ethnographic, geographic and botanical objects.
Carpathian national parks - a kind of recreational complex, which created favorable conditions for development of recreation, which is the best way of expanding the network of cognitive trails. Currently there are 40 foot (environmental, scientific and cognitive), 3 ski, 3 water routes with total length of 400 km.
